Kam-sin Dulhan

Nannhi Dulhan
Tumharay liye tumharay Khwaab
Giri hoi palkoN ki chilman main
Takhleeq kiye gaye thay!
HazaaroN aks jis k peechay
KhwaboN ki tarah jhilmilatay hain
Sunoo,
Tum khwaboN say nikal kar
Subh ka suhana manzar nahi daikh sakti!
Zindagi mehez sapno ki tarang main
Zubaan par khushk khoon k ajeeb zaayeqay
Aor gandii saanso k darmiyan
Baar-aawar ho rahi hay!

Dear Rafi, thank you for finding my verse meaningful to translate it into Urdu – I must say, the Urdu version is much much appealing than the colonial language.
    Buhut shukria, Rafi mian.
    Aadaab.

    • Thanks for complimenting Shaheen.
But I know well that colonial language is more reachable. You always penned your thoughts very well in English. That’s why I can connect with them.

  2. It is indeed a great job you have done. You have felt every little thought that Shaheen has been able to inact in her nazm, and really enclosed a sea in a little pot. I can now feel the pain after reading both the versions.
